Study on home office: less communication | less innovation

A study conducted by Microsoft looked at the effects of working from home. It showed that people work longer from home. However, communication and collaboration between departments has suffered as a result of the home office.

According to the study, communication has changed from one-on-one meetings to indirect communication via e-mail or text messages. Cohesion has been strengthened within the departments. However, communication with other departments has deteriorated significantly - specifically, this has decreased by 25% according to Microsoft.
