Dynamic stiffness

niedrige dynamische Steifigkeit Hanf Schallschutzplatte
The dynamic stiffness describes the "springy" properties of an insulating material in a facing shell construction. The lower the dynamic stiffness, the better the sound insulation of a facing shell.

Low dynamic stiffness
s' - better sound insulation:

For a facing layer, the following applies: The lower the dynamic stiffness of the insulation layer, the higher the improvement in sound insulation provided by the facing construction.

  • The dynamic stiffness of the hemp sound insulation board is very low: s' = 4.5 MN/m³.

Values for s' of less than 10 MN/m³ are extremely low. Due to these very good, resilient properties, structure-borne sound transmission can be particularly strongly reduced with SilentFiber hemp sound insulation panels.

About dynamic stiffness:

The dynamic stiffness s' (MN/m3) is the most important material property for the labeling of insulation materials for facing shells (sound insulation boards).

In addition to impact sound insulation, the determination of dynamic stiffness is also used for the assessment of the sound insulation behavior of facing shells and external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).
