Hemp acoustic panels & bees

Our customer Manfred K. from Upper Austria uses the hemp acoustic panel to line his bee boxes. "The soft wood fiber boards were slowly eaten up by my bees. The hemp fiber insulation board leaves my bees in peace" says the hobby beekeeper.

Insulated like houses

Insulated are the bee boxes, as well as our houses for the winter. In the cold season, the animals do not find food outside. Therefore, all bodily functions run at a minimum. The bees spend up to 6 months in the hive. They feed on honey or on a sugar-water solution. Densely crowded, the bees sit around the queen in the winter cluster. The worker bees maintain the temperature for the queen at a minimum of 25 °C. In doing so, they repeatedly switch from the inside to the outside. Only on warm winter days - above 12 degrees - do the bees leave the hive.

Our hemp acoustic panels are sustainably made from hemp straw.

The bees react very positively to the hemp acoustic panels. We see the use in the beehive as an indication of the durability and residential health of the sustainable material.
